The Results Are In….And We Are Excited!
After a one month hiatus to catch our breath and to gear up for both the holidays and an exciting 2011, we hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving holiday and are well into preparation and enjoyment of the winter holidays, too. To those who volunteered to help organize, generously sponsored and/or participated in Mari’s Miles of Smiles 2010, please share in our joy that the event netted over $12,000. Accordingly, it seems only fitting that in this season of giving we are able to meet our goal of giving back a total of $10,000 this year to providers who have given so much to our daughter and other local children who are on the autism spectrum or are otherwise specially challenged. We are pleased to announce that in the month of December we are planning to donate $7,500.00 to the Darcey School Early Intervention Center, and $2,500 to First Partners, a Birth To Three program in Waterbury administered through Easter Seals. Thank you again to everyone who played a part in helping this come true!
Highlands Health Care Center Wreath Walk
As I wrote earlier in the fall, the generosity and goodwill of people and institutions in the Town of Cheshire never cease to amaze. Once again, I am humbled and very grateful to report that our friends at Highlands Health Care Center in Cheshire have chosen The Mari Hall Family Foundation as the beneficiary of their annual Wreath Walk fundraiser this year, which will be held at Highlands (745 Highland Avenue, Cheshire) on December 9 from 5:30 to 7 pm. The event allows residents of the facility, their family members and members of the general public to win one of fifty or so specially created holiday wreaths. The wreaths will be on display during the cocktail reception on the 9th, and the raffle winners will be drawn on the 15th. Special thanks to Karen Miller Marino, the Director of Marketing at Highlands, for promoting our cause and her efforts in the selection of our Foundation as their beneficiary! Please join us on Dec. 9th!

We have photos of every 10k runner who crossed the finish line. A $3 donation online or payable to The Mari Hall Family Foundation, Inc., P.O. Box 162, Cheshire, CT 06410 is suggested to defray costs.
The New Year
As I type this newsletter the pre-holiday mania is in full swing, and before we know it we will be writing 2011 on all of our checks! We are hoping and planning to grow our fundraising efforts with a few different events, and soon we will begin planning Mari’s Miles of Smiles 2011. Thank you for making our first year a memorable one, and here’s to a great New Year for all of you!
